We landed in Copenhagen, Denmark, about 12:30 pm ……  there is a 9-hour difference in time.  We left LAX at 9:45 AM,  late by 1 ½ hours!  This caused us to have to really hurry to make our connecting flight in Houston, as the gate was quite a bit away from where we landed.  Good thing Craig and  I have been going to the gym to work out !  Arrived in Amsterdam in plenty of time to make our connecting flight to Copenhagen.  The airport in Amsterdam is HUGE !  Saw, and tasted, some wonderful  Gouda cheeses.  I wanted to buy some to take home, but was afraid that it woud spoil as we don’t have a refrigerator in our room.
All the pictures below are from the Amsterdam Airport.

These don't taste anything like our Gouda cheeses at home .... much better.
hen we arrived at the arport in Copenhagen, it was warm (hot, according to Craig !) and muggy, as it had rained tha morning.  This was around 11:30 AM.  We paid for a transfer to the ship as we knew we would be tired, so took a bus that the Cruise Company had arranged. We had just cat-napped on the flight from Houston.  Craig played poker on the monitor at his seat while I watched 2 movies.  Saw the Exotic Marigold Hotel, which took me back to our India trip !!!  It took us a little over 30 minutes to reach the ship, and another 30 minutes to register and board.
We went to our cabin and unpacked our carry ons, met our cabin steward, then went to the buffet for a light lunch.  Craig bought his “unlimited soda” sticker.  By the time we got back to our room, our big luggage had been delivered and we unpacked that.  Time enough before dinner for a quick orientation tour of the ship.  Found the Internet Café !
The Safety Drill was held at 5 PM, and after the last ship disaster in the news, everybody really paid attention !  Then to dinner, where we met some people from Fort Lauderdale, New York and Tennessee.  Quite a mix of passengers on this cruise !

Craig had a fruit cup, Caesar Salad,  and Prime Rib.  I had Spring Rolls, Porcini Mushroom soup and Prime Rib. Then, Craig had a piece of cheesecake !!!   I only had one bite of it !  Then, on to bed, as we were exhausted.
